Best covers
1. #2 informal, #3 informal , #10 formal, #19 formal, #26 informal, #31 informal, #36 formal, #37 environmental
This photo is a little fuzzy but a good cover. The person posing is showing i despair. The arrows symbolizing the fate of the person in the portrait. The background brings out the the person posing a lot. Its gives good detail. Could have a little bit of better quality. But it is showing a message to the public.

he controversial April 1968 magazine cover depicting Muhammad Ali impaled by six arrows appeared on the heels of his refusal to be inducted into the U.S. Army because of his religious beliefs. (Ali, convicted violating the Selective Service Act, was barred from the ring and stripped of his title.) The cover, the second of three Esquire covers defending Ali, shows the boxer martyred as St. Sebastian, a patron saint of athletes and one who was shot with arrows for his steadfast religious beliefs. This was one of the covers designed by George Lois, Esquires Art Director during the 1960s.This photo is a little fuzzy but a good cover. The person posing is showing i despair. Magazine cover introduction
1. Five things I should think about are the images appeal, familiar recognition from issue to issue , worth the money and time , arousing curiosity, and efficient fast easy to scan .

Self Portraits and Portraits part 2
Tips
- Think about your motivation and emotions: Blankly staring at the camera rarely gets good results. Be silly, don’t be afraid to over-act. The worst that can happen is that you fill up your memory card with useless photos; but you might also find yourself with a proper gold-nugget of a self portrait.
- If you’ve got a remote trigger, that’s usually a better and more controllable than trying to use the self-timer.
- If you can, hook up your camera directly to your computer (or, for extra-fancy bonus points, your TV) so you can see your pictures come up as you take ‘em. It’s a lot easier to iterate and to make gradual improvements to your photos that way.

Environmental Photos

These two are my favorite photos because they look very interesting. They show lots of detail. They aren't boring pictures and show lots of emotions.
casual photos
These two photos are my favorite casual portraits because they show lots of emotions and shows lots of detail. The color is very good and it isn't a boring.
When I do my self portrait assignment I'm going to shoot Frankie Torres. I figured I shoot her out in the courtyard because there is alot of open space and I can really work with her. What I will do to make the shot successful is taking clear shots. Making sure I get creative. Not stand in the same spot over and over again. Make sure when I'm outside that I'm not facing the sun otherwise the shot will come out white and you won't be able to see the picture. I will make sure to get balance and maybe even the rule of thirds.
Portraits and self portraits
Favorite self portrait
Favorite professional portrait
I think what makes a good photo is the quality and detail. If it looks like a very interesting and detailed photo then its a good photo. It shouldn't be a photo that has little detail and isn't very interesting. A boring photo shows nothing at all. I don't know what style i would like to use the next time i have a camera. I haven't mastered much of the styles and I'm not familiar with all of them.

Ethics in Fashion Photography
1. They changed her lips ,raised her neck , changed her hair by making it longer, made her eyes a little bigger, smoothed out her face.
2. It is not ethically to change a persons appearance because its not really them. It makes her look completely different.
3. Some circumstances are the person and how she would think it would be like to change her appearance because she doesn't look like that in person.
4. I believe none of the changes are okay but in some points changing the eyes to make them look bigger and not so small could be an okay change.
5. Fashion photography is the pictures are taken and edited. Your not taking an actually picture of an event going on, you have someone set up a theme and a model and then the photographer takes the picture. Then it is edited to make it look better. Photojournalism is photos that are taken of something that is actually going on. For example your finding things to take photos of and aren't editing and advertising it but expressing your creativity and showing everything that is going on in a picture.
6. Each type of photography has to do with a an event or a theme going on in reality. Its an actual picture expressing something.

Abandoned theme parks
1. The theme park that I think would be cool and I like to visit would be Russian Village, Niigata Japan. Its a really interesting place and even though it is abandoned and run down it still looks kinda nice. Like not much is wrong with it. Its very detailed and has a lot of interesting rides and activities that would be good for taking pictures. Its not a boring spot.
Five unusual places:
1.Shidaka’s Utopia, Beppu, Kyushu, Japan
2.Nara Dreamland, Nara, Japan
3.Spreepark, Berlin, Germany
4.Koka Family Land, Shiga, Japan
5.Takakanonuma Greenland, Hobara, Japan
Takakanonuma Greenland would be a good place to document because its a really creepy place to be at. They have a lot of spooky sites which makes everything all the more interesting. There's lots of trees and grass taking over the park making it look kinda forest like. Like its in the middle of no where. Id expect to take photos that are kind of dark. They be a lil spooky because its a spooky place.
I would need to take a camera of course. A tripod. Maybe a couple of different lenses to zoom in further or get a better detailed picture. I would need to shoot during a weekend and lots of money for hotel expenses and food and flight.

Photo Manipulation and Ethnics
1. This story is about editing pictures and how people edit pictures to the public. How photo shop changes pictures completely into something worse or to something better. Photo editing can make certain photos have more detail in the picture than what it was originally. Its able to completely alter a picture and make a completely different picture.
2. It is unethical because the photos being edited aren't real photos. They are fake.
This photo is unethical because it completely changes the face. Its a fake picture. The Lady in the picture has an edit on her teeth making them look disgusting giving a false accusation on the person.
This photo is least unethical because it doesnt look as bad. Its darken and makes it look like the man or OJ is an evil guy which he kinda is but it doesn't change any features on him. Its just darkened.

American soldier captions and slide shows.
A. What is the most powerful image from the slideshows? Why?
The second photo in the coming section is the most powerful image because it shows how much he was happy to be home. Most importantly it showed how happy his family was when he came home. It shows that the life in the army was hard for him and coming back home was the greatest thing ever.
B. What sequence of photographs is the most powerful? Why?
Life in Iraq was the most powerful. Being in Iraq and seeing how scary it could be and the missions you would have to go on makes you look at it all a completely different way. You can see all they had to go through and the tactics they had to take when being in Iraq.
c. How do the images work together to tell a story?
All the images are taking in a specific way at specific time lining each one up after another. You can look at one photo and then look at the next one and be able to tell what is going on in that time frame just by the sequence they are in.
3. Click on the "i" button on the upper right side of the photos to see the captions.
A. For the photos in which Ian is the main subject of the photos, in what tense are the verbs usually written?
They are written in present and past tense verbs
B. How do the captions enhance the photographs?
They give more detail on what is actually going on in the photo. Makes everything more interesting and you can understand the photos better.
4. Turn off the caption feature.
A. Write three of your own captions to photos without looking at the caption written by the photographer. Be sure they are written in the following form. For this assignment you can make up names and facts to write your captions.
1. In the section coming home look at the picture where the father is on the phone and the mother is wearing purple.
Caption: Ian parents are really excited for their sons return home. Waiting for him to show the mother is becoming impatient from all the excitement while the father is on the phone telling other family that he is almost near and to prepare something extraordinary for him.
2. In the coming home section look at the photo where ian is wearing a hat and a tap out shirt and his mother is playing pool
Caption : While the mother is playing pool Ian distracts her to make her lose but also talks about the life in the army and the procedure they had to do when being there. The mother works hard to concentrate on the winning shot though.
3. In the section coming home look at the photo where ian is wearing a black shirt and the mother is wearing a pink shirt
Caption: The mother wipes the kisses off his cheek that she has given him. He blushes but wants to be a man expressing the fact that men don't get kisses from mothers anymore. Although she sees this she is just proud to have the fact that her son is finally home.
A. How do these other features enhance the photographs?
Having Ian express him self everything that went on during the war made you get a better understanding than the captions and pictures because he was telling it himself
B. In what ways are videos better than photographs? Provide an example from the Denver Post Web site.
Videos explain more and you get a better visualization then photographs. In photographs many stories can be told and you can guess on what is actually going on the picture but you may not be correct all the time. When videos gives you the story automatically and you can actually see everything that is truly happening without having someone explaining. It plays the role of telling a story.
C. In what ways are photos better than videos? Provide an example from the Denver Post Web site.
Photos show more. Videos can explain things better but photographs can show and speak out to you. If a powerful action is being caught in a photo you are able to take that in and really focus. When videos have so much going on and its hard to pause just one moment for it to make an impact. A photograph can capture so many different meanings and actions which can also make it better than a video. It captures one moment.

Cool Video
1. I thought this video was really good. Yearbook seems expensive though but a great video. I would like to see more of the hiphop team later on with these videos. I think that would be very interesting. I think that some over the videos shown should had played out alil longer and quality could of been alil better but other than that it was a good video.

1. What theme that we could take here at school could we do a series of these panels to place around the school? Blue and gold night and sports
2. Should we use phones only, or should we open it up to our regular cameras for those people that don't have camera phones? I think we could use both phone and cameras. But if i had to choose i would just use phones.
3. Where would you want to put the mural on campus? On a wall. Where everyone can see it.

1. What do you have to do on the camera to make this type of photo? Adjust the controst on the camera ant the photo will come out correctly.
2. Look up a Canon T3 on google and tell me if it has the ability to shoot bracketed photos? Yes it takes a minimum of 3 shots.
3. Is there a place on campus we could take a series of photos like this? i dont think so . NO
4. Do a google image search for HDR photos and find your favorite, post it on your blog, tell me why you picked that photo and then tell me what techniques (rules of photography) the photographer used.
One of the reasons is because its in paris. Two its the ifel tower. Three is very interesting and the colorway makes it look really cool

Fixed Photo post shoot reflection
1) I learned where the F setting button was. I learned that the higher the iso and different shutter speed the different the picture.
2) The photos either look brighter or darker or much more pixalated than usual.
3) Each photo gets darker or lighter. It goes from dark to light. Light to dark
4) iso make photos brighter or darker and when needed say in a situation where you need a dark affect you would change the iso to that setting
5) Certain photos seem to be in focus. But the increase in shutter speed and iso makes the photo not as focus but still able to look at it clearly.
7) What i would need to concentrate on next time would be the ISO and the shutters speed.

Great Black and White Photographers part 3
1) The thing that caught me was how the photo was able to tell a story. There were many stories that could be told with the photographs I picked. Just the fact that you are able to tell a story with them is what made me choose them. Its a very nice photograph. Well taken with alot of detail. A great photo that catches my eye with every detail
2)
I see many people in crowds trying to get to their destination
I smell the scent coming from the trees and grass in the park.
I hear the people talking to each other about random conversations.
I taste terrible air in the park
I feel the community and its people presents and the air hitting against me.
3) I would like to create a beautiful work of art with my photos. Where people can see my photos and not only enjoy them but make them think and speak out to them. Have a certain meaning to each photo or a certain message to show to everyone.

Shutter Speed
Picture taken in slow shutter speed
I think I would have to shoot in fast shutter speed because there isnt much going on during the events. Not alot of action. If there was something going on on stage then I would have to go to slow shutter speed.

Set camera in shutter priority where it automatically selects the aperture , set camera into manual where you set shutter speed and aperture manually , and aperture priority where you set the lens aperture when it is already automatically set to a shutter speed.
Aperture

Photo taken with an F16 camera
2. Finish this sentence - the smaller the Aperture the larger the F number, the higher the Aperture the smaller the F number.
3. In your own words tell me how aperture impacts Depth of Field? A small aperture for a large F-number would mean the background and foreground would both be in focus but a large aperture with a small F-number would make the foreground in focus but the background would be blurry.

Photographs by NIck Brandt
This is my favorite photo by Nick Brandt
Nick Brandt took these photos to record a visually poetic last testament to the wild animals and places there before they are gone at the hands of man.
He used a Pentax 67 with 2 fixed lenses.
Africa Black and White
The Africa Black and White power point was very amazing. Very good pictures taken with lots of details. Some really spoke to me and made we think of certain stories to go along with it. There were some that had meaning to it making you think. Power point was very inspirational.
My favorite photo was the one with the lion cub staring out in the the field. It showed meaning and a story behind. Like as if he was staring into his future or the road he will soon take in his future.

1. What challenges did you encounter while trying to get the photos following the rules I set out for you?
Had to move around and make sure other objects werent in the pictures.
2. What technical aspects of photography or the assignment in general (focus, framing, holding the camera, etc.) did you find yourself thinking about the most? Provide a specific example of what you did to do this correctly.
3. If you could do the assignment again, what would you do differently now that you know some basic rules of photography?
4. What things would you do the same?
5. When you go out with your next set of prompts, which rule do you think will be the easiest to achieve?
6. Which rule do you think will be the hardest to capture?
7. What rule are you still not totally clear on and what can you do to figure out what that rule is?
simplicity
In this picture the ketchup stands out the most showing a lot of simplicity because it is the first thing your eye catches
Avoiding mergers
The boy in the black and red shorts makes it seem like the guy diagonal from him in the blue to be coming out of him. As if they are merged together as one.
Rule of thirds
From this angle the student in the black are in the bottom right corner working his way up. Showing movement

Most interesting
In this picture I have no clue on what is going on at all but they do seem to do something very unique. Looks like they are welding something together. There is a lot going on and it isn't a boring picture to look at. This picture makes me wonder.
