Newspaper Notes

list of things that should appear of the front of the newspaper and define them.

Flag: The name of the paper
Teaser: can be anywhere on the page.
Folio: The name of the school, A quote and the day the newspaper was published , price, website,
Information on about the city , school , or anything else.
Headline: below the headline is the sub headline. The headline should come from the first paragraph
Sub headline: One page per minimum. Gives even more information.
Byline: Tells you who wrote the story and tells them what position they have.
Gotta have pictures on your page
IF you have multiple photos you need to have a dominant photo.
Gotta have caption head , the name of the photographer, the caption its self are the three parts of a caption
The caption of the first sentence is suppose to answer the 5 w's and H.
Sentence number two gives background information that you cant get from looking at the picture
IF you have to write more in the caption you have to use more information from the background or you get a quote.
  Front page should have three to five stories
Jump: Continues some place else.
Info Graphics: Give you information in graphic form. Gives you additional information that you don't already know
There is three pieces that should be in every single newspaper in the united state.
Three pieces are table of contents, issue number, the volume.
Mast head or staff box: Name of all the staff, editorial policy (everything about our publication) organizations we belong to.
